WHO WE ARE


The Oxford Dictionary definition of Epicure is a “Person who takes a special interest in and gets pleasure form food and drink” , A challenge readily met by the numerous excellent dining establishments in South East Asia but what about those little Epicureans who suffer the daily drudgery of school dinners, remember those ?

Fed up with his own children’s miserable lunchtime experience, Epicure Catering Co., Ltd, was established in 2003 by Trevor Allen, it’s Managing Director with the objective to provide high quality food service to international Schools in Thailand.

Epicure Catering Co., Ltd. was formed when Trevor Allen bought out the catering arm of Convent Entertainment, who at the time provided the catering services to Harrow International School Bangkok. Along with this buyout came the key management and operational staff, most of whom had already gained many years experience in contract catering.

Our aim was to fill what we perceived to be a gap between the quality of service provided by international and locally based catering companies by implementing and adopting the best international standards and practices, using a team of experienced expatriate and local management.

 

Epicure Catering Co., Ltd. takes great pride in the quality of food offered and in addition to the high level of service we provide and our flexible “can do” approach further strengthens our ability to work in close partnership with our clients and ensure their complete satisfaction.

2015 proved to be a milestone for Epicure with expansion across the region into Cambodia, working in partnership with the International School of Phnom Penh (ISPP) in designing the kitchen at their new campus and taking on the catering contract to operate their food services, a new emerging market that proved to be successful and continues to flourish.

In 2017 Epicure launched its first ventures in Vietnam with 2 leading International Schools, which was quickly followed by adding another prestigious contract the following year.

September 2020, Epicure acquired ‘The Caterers’, Vietnams leading educational food service provider. The Caterers have over 40 contracts and provide in excess of 20,000 meals per day across Vietnam, employing around 700 staff.

Epicure now employs over 1,200 skilled cooks and chefs, with 10 expatriates across Thailand, Vietnam and Cambodia.

In January 2019 Dusit International acquired a majority stake in Epicure to further enhance our operations and add even more value to our customers throughout the region.

Besides being one of Thailand’s leading hotel and property development companies, with  70 years of international experience behind them, Dusit International is also a leading provider of hospitality education and has rich experience in outside catering – and the same passion for excellence we share here at Epicure.

In line with Dusit’s strategy for concentric diversification, The aim was to achieve at least 10% revenue contribution from adjacent lines of business by 2024. Drawing on our more than 70 years of experience operating hotel-based restaurants, as well as catering for large scale events, Dusit are now making significant strides into the food industry with strategic investments in food production and catering, as well as opening standalone restaurant concepts, and introducing new premium food products in the international market.
